Not only is our nursing care important, but also the environment and stimulation have a significant effect on wellbeing. Our home is designed to facilitate a comprehensive program of activities and outings.
Within the home we have our own pub, theatre, hairdressing salon and coffee shop. We have our own minibus for outings to the beach huts, Wimborne market, poole harbour, Swanage and many other local attractions.
Outings are fundamental to our approach, providing residents with invaluable opportunities to explore the beautiful surroundings of Poole. These experiences are vital for nurturing their mental well-being.
So there is always something for our residents to look forward too.
We have a wide range of pets visiting the care home such as birds, ducks and alpaca’s, When pets visit it can relieve stress and anxiety, promoting activities such as walking and caring for animals has a positive effect on their well being.
Outings are a big part of what we do and we have a lot of places
We also have our own family of cocker spaniels, Pippa, Tilly and Charlie who live at the home too.
Over recent years the 2 girls have produced 3 litters and in the last litter the residents wanted to keep Charlie, so he stayed. The dogs love coming out on trips with the residents, especially when it’s bike night and fish n chips down the quay.
